Ingredients
- Fresh turmeric roots - 2 roots ( 2 to 21/2 inch sized each)
- Freshly grated coconut - 3/4th cup
- Red chilies- 3 to 4
- Tamarind - small lemon sized
- Jaggery powder - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 3-4 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 4 to 5
- Urad dal - 1/4 tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tbsp
- Salt as per taste
- Water for grinding
Method
- Wash fresh turmeric roots and peel off the skin. Chop them thinly
- Add a spoon of oil to pan and fry chopped turmeric pieces in oil for about 4 to 5 min or till they become little crispy.
- Switch off the flame and chilies to pan
- Transfer it to mixer jar add coconut, tamarind and jaggery. And grind them to a coarse paste by adding water little by little.
- Add 2 spoon of oil to pan and add grounded mixture and cook it for about 4 to 5 minutes. Don’t forget to add salt while its cooking.
- Transfer it to a serving bowl and season it with urad dal+ mustard seeds+
+ curry leaves!
