Jackfruit season is round the corner! This takes me back to my childhood days. There are so many delicious recipes made out of this amazing fruit. Jackfruit is loaded with high nutritional content. It contains powerful antioxidants and vitamins. It helps to manage the blood pressure with controlling cholesterol levels. Jackfruit idli is one of the authentic sweet breakfast recipes which can be relished with ghee or honey.

Ingredients

Jackfruit puree - 2 and a half cup
Idli rava - 1 cups
freshly grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Jaggery - 1/2 cup ( check the sweetness and then add accordingly)
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tbsp
Pinch of salt
honey and ghee for serving

Method

Make a smooth puree of deseeded jackfruit pods
Add idli rava, grated coconut, jaggery, cardamom powder and salt to the puree.
Mix well and leave it aside for half an hour. This idli does not require fermentation. it has to be done instantly.
Pour the idli batter on ghee greased idli plates. Steam cook it in the idli cooker for about 25 to 30 minutes on high flame. Traditionally jackfruit idli/kadubu is made using banana leaves/teak leaves.
Serve the hot jackfruit idli with ghee and honey. It tastes divine!
